STAGE AS A SOCIAL PERFORMATIVE ACT
Intervention of current CVS building into a space where cooking with unwanted produce becomes a social performative act.
In Rhode Island, a huge amount of unharvested fruits referred to as "Imperfect Produce", are thrown away from the farm under high cosmetic standards like a slightly different shape, color and etc. Hence, the stage platforms, inserted in the building, will be filled with diverse cooking experience, using this imperfect produce, as a social performative act. Specifically, for the main event, which is a cooking show, every movable structure is activated to accommodate the crowd of people to watch this interesting performance. To better design the performance as a highly communicative experience, the huge monitor, suspended from the existing ceiling, helps the audience from a different distance to better watch the mouthwatering process.
